It all began with a drop of ink

I have been immersed in the world of design and creativity for as long as I can remember. My journey as an artist began in childhood as a musician, where music inspired me with its diverse range of instruments, each capable of producing something unique. My early years were marked by a passion for drawing, often filling the walls of my bedroom with my artwork.

As I matured, I transitioned into the realm of technology, pursuing graphic design. My walls became completely adorned with images from music and sports magazines, and I became fascinated by how designers transformed simple photographs into compelling graphics that not only captured attention but also told stories. This fascination led me to a college education in graphic design, which laid the foundation for a successful freelance career. I had the privilege of collaborating with various clients, from musicians and college sports teams to small businesses, creating logos, event posters, t-shirt designs, album art, and music videos

My passion for tattoos has been a constant throughout my life. The concept of placing ink on skin, creating a permanent piece of art, captivated me. Tattoos serve as moving canvases, allowing individuals to express their stories and identities daily. The intricate relationship between pain and beauty in tattooing resonates deeply with me. As a musician and artist, i’ve heavily idolized people from punk and metal cultures, such as Travis Barker, who expresses himself fully and wears his art boldly, I eagerly embraced tattooing at 18, getting my first tattoos. From that moment forward, it lit a wildfire inside of me.

Becoming a tattoo artist is not merely a career choice for me; it is a calling. It presents an opportunity to blend my artistic vision with the power to profoundly impact others' lives.

I have had the privilege of doing some of my clients’ very first tattoos, creating an experience that is both comfortable and calming. My goal is to alleviate their fears, transforming their first-time tattoo encounters into moments of joy. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see a spark ignite within them as they express excitement for their next tattoo, often saying, "I've already been thinking about my next one thanks to you."

Many of my clients carry scars and profound stories, seeking to turn their past experiences—often dark and painful—into something beautiful. Being a part of this transformation in their lives brings me immense happiness and fulfillment. It reinforces my commitment to pursuing this craft for the long term changing more lives for the better.

With this passion in mind, I set out to create my own brand. Shuffling through different name options, I ultimately named it "Killswitch Tattoos." The inspiration came from one of my favorite metal bands, Killswitch Engage. A killswitch, commonly seen as a button or handle to freeze or terminate a process, symbolizing my desire to put an end to the toxic culture often found within the tattoo industry.

As a woman in this field, my mission is to establish a welcoming and safe space where everyone feels comfortable expressing their design opinions and tattoo placements. I want my clients to feel at ease when asking for adjustments, whether it’s to make a design smaller or to change the placement. I believe in the power of self-expression through tattoos and strive to make this art form an affordable and accessible luxury for all.
